CES’s projects are focussing on key areas of environmental policy,
such as the impact of the European integration process, sustainability
in local communities, sustainable development and the business community.
Its research projects investigate: the impact of privatization on industry
and agriculture, the manner and extent of business contribution to sustainable
development, opportunities for increasing the use of renewable energy in
Hungary, as well as the environmental implications of EU integration and
EU regional development policy on Hungarian regional and rural development.
Other projects of CES assist local governments in designing and implementing
local and micro-regional environmental policies, as well as in applying
environmental management systems principles to local / urban management.
